Hi – Thanks for looking me up.
The Challenge - During the middle of ’09 I decided that at my stage of life (approaching retirement) I needed a Challenge.
My sister, some two years younger, completed the London Marathon in ‘08 so the gauntlet had been thrown down.
Watching an episode of the BBC Arthur Wainwright Walks; the “Coast to Coast “ walk seemed to fit the bill.
Motivation (Charity) – I feel sure that I will probably need a stimulus when the walk becomes difficult (say after 2½ day, so I have decided to make it a Charity Walk.
I must stress that the total cost of the walk is funded by me and that ALL money raised will go to Charity.
The Hard Sale – “Give me your money” – Now in fact what I am suggesting is a Maximum amount of £5 (five pounds) – no not per mile – for the whole walk. Any amounts less than the maximum would be gratefully received. Should anyone wish to give more then another member of the family would do nicely.
